Description
In one sentence, and in full
Short
The Last Abbasid is a 2D pixel-art action platformer set in Baghdad in February 1258, as the Mongols sack the city.
Long
You play Yusuf ibn Harun, one of the Caliph’s last guardsmen, crossing the burning city to save its books, its people and his friend Hamid.
Yusuf fights with sword and shield, and every enemy blow flashes the colour of its answer before it lands: white to block or parry, amber to jump or roll, violet to parry or roll, red to roll. Chapter I ends in a duel with Toqto Noyan, a Mongol captain, at the city’s last gate.
A demo of Chapter I is out now on itch.io, in English and Arabic. It plays in the browser on PC, or as a Windows download. The full game is planned for Steam.
